Baby Number Two

so we are now proud parents of two baby girls.  zoe marie evans and marley olivia evans.  zoe has been talking alot lately about being a big girl.  wanting to sleep in a big girl bed.  wanting to switch out of diapers.  those types of things.  i found it interesting though on my ride home from the hospital with zoe after visiting her little sister for the first time when she said to me, “daddy, i’m still little”.  though she was incredibly excited to meet her sister, its clear she’s starting to worry about being forgotten now that there’s another baby around.  i think she’ll be okay.

laura jo and marley came home from the hospital today and are getting settled in to life at home.  i’m at the in-laws right now stealing some bandwidth.  all the photos i’ve gotten so far are uploaded to flickr which you can get to through the link on the right of this page.

we’re excited to experience an infant for the second time because we feel like we can actually enjoy it this time.  with zoe everything was new and scary and we worried far too much…though from what i’ve seen, not as much as some parents.  nonetheless, i feel much more relaxed with marley and look forward to enjoying her before she starts becoming her own person.

well, that’s it for now.  i need to get back to the house and make sure zoe isn’t terrorizing marley.  one other thing though…i have to add to my “firsts” list from the previous entry.  this year i had to take a student to the emergency room for the first time.  note to all: remind your students constantly that using scalpels for opening glue containers is NOT a good idea.  (by the way, he didn’t ask me before finding the scalpel and almost cutting his finger off)
